I visited the Orbit on a regular basis from '93 up till its sad (and mysterious) demise.
For a few years somewhere in the middle of that time i was there practically every week, but as age/responsibility began to take its toll i began to attend only when a major name i "had to see" was playing (those little pills certainly do take it out of you as you get older). However should there ever be a special occasion (Birthday ect.) Morley was where we allways would go.
I never knew about the (then) imminant closure and was genuinly upset not to have gone on the last ever night, however The Orbit shall allways riegn supreme as the best club i ever visited (including Lost) and i had some of the best laughs of my life in there.
Best times:-
3rd birthday with Hardfloor live
Hawtin and Aquaviva
Early Beltram
The time i walked into the glass cafe door!
Dave Angel circa '95

PS. My names Ben, im from Goole and i've had Three doves...Fukin 'ammerd i am!!

Nice introduction, mate.

Come on in and enjoy the site!

(PS. I was just thinking about doing a "how many people have you seen go face first into the upstairs bar glass door?" poll. Might just do that!)

One post-Orbit, frivolities-filled Sunday morning we came up with a top ten list of things people would do on their first / first few visits to the club.

Number 1 on that list was the walking into the Twilight Zone door (the loud crash heard inside the cafe bar followed by the Waaaaaaaaayyyyhaaaaaaaaaayyy!!! from the punters who'd seen it happen sooooo many times before). Unfortunately, too many years and too many little 'headache' tablets later, I can't remember the other 9 indicators of a newbie...

That said, I do remember more than a couple of proper diehards who managed to walk into the glass door - the cheer was always much louder on these occasions. Also, I think it was around '98 when some yellow/black sticky tape was placed strategically across the door which did reduce the number of incidents and, therefore, our fun value.

couldnt let this one lie!!!! Me n Ben were regulars as he said through the early to to late nineties but he forgot to mention our first attempt at getting there to see aphex twin in '92!!! Following some others Ben decided he needed a piss so we had to stop at the services, needless to say we lost our lead and as a result ended up driving round Bradford trying to find the place!!! Never made it that night but we got there in the end!!! Happy daze no doubt the best club i ever experienced!! miss it

ps im Mark from goole!!
