Yeah, I went to the darkside a few month ago. I think Chris Leibing was supposed to be playing, but he didn't show. It was just a residents night, and they played loads of classics, brilliant for us die hard techno fans, but the new fans probably wouldn't have liked it! It was a bit annoying towards the end though, as it's upstairs from speed queen! So you've got ya handbag house downstairs and your classic techno upstairs. I suppose they don't have much cash just yet, and are probably working on a better venue. I know the guy who runs it, he's called paul, and he owns the record shop in hyde park, leeds, cool geezer and he knows what he's talking about. It won't be long before he finds somewhere much better to bang it out. Seems a shame how techno has somehow been demoted to the back room! It should be in the main room!

Yeah I used to go into Innercity a fair bit, probably helped pay off a little bit of Paul's mortgage. I'm glad he's started putting on Darkside and wish him well with it. I checked out the website the other day and it looks like they've got some interesting line-up's coming up. Also Waveform Transmission Vol - 1 for under 12 nicker, bagain sez I !!

Well, as I was saying they needed to change venue and they have. They're now in the northern light, which I think is over near the corn exchange and sort of doctor woo's and down that sort of area. They've also got a 1 year birthday party coming up too, so why not tag along, if it's anything like it was at the warehouse it'll be a cracking night I tell thee! Sadly I won't be attending the one this saturday but I hop to be at the 1st birthday bash with technasia.

h mate
that party upstairs in the warehouse last september was a one off. the venue double booked us so we either went in there for the night or cancelled the gig. chris liebing was never booked or advertised to be playing that night. it was mike dred and rob leiner playing old school classics sets which'll be why you heard some many classics throughout the night :) we'll be doing something similar again this summer.

if you want to join the club mailing list drop me a mail darkside@basement-trax.co.uk

gonna go check out the rest of this mental website now and download that classic hawtin set. :D
